This is a decent cheap scooter for a small kid. It weights only 4.25 lbs, which is much lighter than razors or the smallest pro scooters. For small kids that want to do bunny hops and other tricks, they need something small and light like this.

If you kid is 6 and big for his age, he is probably already too big for this scooter.

Recommendations if your kid really wants to ride this scooter:

    1. You really need to tighten down the handlebar height adjusting clamp to stop the rattling. I had to use pliers to tighten the knob enough.
    2. Same for the folding lock lever. I needed pliers to tighten the adjusting knob adequately.
    3. Handlebars rattle. I needed to replace the push-pins that hold the grips on. I removed them, drilled out each side with a 1/4 inch drill, and added 1/4 bolts and nuts.
    4. Remove the plastic bits that go into the deck of the scooter and glue them back in. They are only held in with friction, and will fall out.
    5. Wheel bearings can easily be replaced. They aren't the absolute worst, but could be a lot better. Get a set of reds from a skateshop, which is enough bearings for 2 scooters.

Also, the wheels are kinda soft, but for a small light kid, that is probably a good thing. Don't leave it outside. The wheels will rot.

My only real complaint about this thing is the headset. If you tighten it enough to remove all the play, turning the handlebar will be stiff. Of course, for $20, one can't complain. The cups are loose in the headtube. It can actually be greatly improved by shimming the cups with some tape to reduce the play.

I was able to replace the headset with a 1" threaded sealed cartridge bearing headset. I used an a9 stronglight, but an fsa duron x 1" threaded would also probably work, as well as a china import as long as it is 1" threaded with sealed cartridge bearings.

I just used the original crown race on the fork that came with the scooter. The fork is not properly cut for a real crown race. Since cartridge bearings just sit against the race, the original race worked fine. I had no trouble pushing the cups in the headtube. The headtube is not properly faced, but it still works fine.

I also added some better wheels and bearings. The scooter is now super fast, extremely light, and rattle free. A great small scooter for a small nimble kid.
